2025-11-21The purpose of the Foundation's Academy Professorships at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is to promote Vetenskapsakademien is to promote internationally leading research in the field of medicine at Swedish universities. The Academy Professorships enable the appointed professors to devote themselves full-time to their research. The Foundation funds five parallel Torsten Söderberg Academy Professorships in Medicine - each with SEK 10 million.
A total of eight research projects in medicine are supported in this year's regular funding round.
In order to more clearly highlight the importance of trade for technological development and the emergence and future of modern Sweden - a perspective often lacking in previous presentations - the Foundation has donated a total of SEK 5 million to the Technical Museum's upcoming new basic exhibition Teknikframtider - det moderna Sveriges födelse. This year's grant amounts to SEK 2.5 million,
Two research projects that both, in different ways, delve into the importance of accounting, auditing and the role of the bankruptcy trustee in combating financial crime in companies receive a total of SEK 3.5 million.
The Foundation also supports a research collaboration between the Swedish Defense University and the Stockholm School of Economics on the history of Swedish intelligence and its importance for state building.
