Professors

The Torsten Söderberg Foundation has endowed professorships at the Karolinska Institute, Lund University, the Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm University, the University of Gothenburg, and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The underlying principle in all cases is to free up time and enable a distinguished professor to focus on their research.

The professorships vary in nature. Some are permanent, while others—known as rotating professorships—are held by different professors at shorter intervals, such as every four years. The professorships are appointed by the university or, where applicable, by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences following a call for applications and an external peer review. Several of the professorships have been endowed in collaboration with the Ragnar Söderberg Foundation.
