The Center for Business History wants to start publishing a book series with selected classics in Swedish and international business history, economic history and business history. The publication will take place within the framework of the newly established publishing house Näringslivshistoria. This will enable historical works that are in demand to be disseminated and used again in teaching, research, archives and among readers interested in business history. The classics series will also help to establish and manifest business history as a subject area in its own right and with a core of central literature.
The aim is threefold. Firstly, the project aims to create practical conditions for such a publication by developing procedures, production forms and physical design of the book series. Secondly, the aim is to carry out a general survey of relevant literature in the field and, based on this, to make an initial selection or list for publication and to sign agreements with the relevant publishers and rights holders. Thirdly, the aim is to start publishing the first titles in the series, with new introductions and commentaries written by researchers in the field.
