The Torsten Söderberg Foundation currently funds five academic professorships in medicine at a level of 2 million SEK per year for five years. There is a significant need for this type of research position, which gives demonstrably outstanding professors the opportunity to further strengthen and develop their research. This is a crucial step toward further strengthening Swedish research in light of international developments. The professorship is intended to promote internationally leading research in the medical field by enabling the holder to devote themselves full-time to research for five years at a Swedish medical faculty. The holder of the professorship will be appointed based on documented scientific quality in their research.
