Söderberg Trade Prize 2011 to Professors Karin M. Ekström and Magnus Söderlund

The jury of the Söderberg Trade Prize has decided to award the 2011 prize to Professors Karin M. Ekström, University of Borås, and Magnus Söderlund, Stockholm School of Economics.

The jury's motivation

"The winners are rewarded for their studies of consumer behavior and for important contributions through the creation of research environments, where outstanding trade-relevant research is conducted to the great benefit of trade companies."

The award ceremony and the prize lectures took place on May 9, 2011 in connection with the Swedish Trade Federation's Annual General Meeting.

Karin M. Ekström
Karin M. Ekström is Professor of Business Administration at the University of Borås. She was the initiator of the Center for Consumer Science, an interdisciplinary research center. Ekström has edited several books and is a member of several organizations, including the Swedish Consumer Agency's Scientific Council, the Peer Review College of the Danish Council for Strategic Research and the Royal Society for Science and Letters. Ms. Ekström is also a strategic advisor at the Bodø School of Economics in Norway.

Magnus Söderlund
Magnus Söderlund is Professor of Business Administration at the Stockholm School of Economics. He received his doctorate in 1993. Since 1998 he has been Director of the Center of Consumer Marketing, the Stockholm School of Economics' department for research and teaching on consumer behavior.
