He is a professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, where he holds the Stockholm School of Economics Jubilee Professorship in Financial Economics, especially Venture Capital. He is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and Director of the Swedish House of Finance - a national research institute aimed at bringing together the country's best researchers in the field of financial markets.
Mr. Strömberg holds an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and a PhD in financial economics from Carnegie Mellon University, USA, in 1997. He works in the field of corporate finance, a branch of financial economics that deals with the tools and analytical methods that firms use to make financial decisions. Strömberg's research contains both innovative theory and ambitious empirical work and he has been recognized for his research on bankruptcy rules and on venture capital financing.
