ENTER Mölndal is the result of the project“Shaped Places: Co-creating Local History,” led by the Mölndal City Museum in collaboration with RISE Interactive and Marika Hedemyr Projects, with support from the Torsten Söderberg Foundation.

Archaeologists have made a very large discovery of rows of cooking pits next to Tulebosjön in Kållered. During the Bronze Age, there were fires burning in long rows along the ridge, above what is now the bathing area. The site has raised many questions for researchers. Why were the cooking pits built right here by the lake? And what were they used for? The app allows you to experience different options and, through augmented reality (AR) technology, provides a unique opportunity to travel in time and experience what the site may have looked like thousands of years ago.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of the historical depth of the local environment and stimulate a shared sense of responsibility for the place - the cultural heritage - and its development. In June 2019, ENTER Mölndal - Kvarnbyn was also launched.

You need a smartphone that supports ARKit or ARCore. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Google Play. Headphones are needed for the walk but no internet connection. The experience is aimed at families and children aged 9 and over.
